The Canadian Aviation Heritage Centre (CAHC) is a community oriented, non-profit organization. It is the only one of its kind in Quebec combining civil and military aircraft, artifacts and memorabilia, and has the full support of many established cultural and educational organizations, including the Canada Aviation and Space Museum and McGill University.

HISTORY

Founded by Godfrey Pasmore in 1998, the CAHC is situated in the historical "Old Stone Barn" on the Macdonald Campus of McGill University in Ste-Anne-de-Bellevue (Montreal), Quebec. In 1998, a rental agreement was arranged through the Macdonald Campus/McGill University administration for a portion of this building to be refurbished and used as the site of the aviation heritage centre.

Two workshops have been created for the construction and preservation of historically significant aircraft. Other wings of the building have been transformed into an art gallery, machine shop, administration offices, conference room, library and artifact preservation area.

GOVERNANCE

The CAHC is a registered non-profit organization. Its by-laws are incorporated in Article A of the Centre's charter which governs the management, membership, meetings and committees, elected officers, nomination and election of directors, and other operational factors pertaining to the CAHC.

Donations are received and tax receipts are prepared in accordance with Canada Revenue Agency requirements.
